Brooke fought and lived every day in the hope and expectation that she would return to John Jay High School to resume being a student and one of the girls on the High School and Blue Storm softball teams. She had an amazing spirit that was sustained by the love and support of her family, friends, and the community.
Your love and concern gave Brooke and her family so much strength. They appreciated everything given to her especially all the get-well cards, visits by her teammates, and the dedication of school events and t-shirts in her honor.
Every contribution made to Brooke, however big or small, mattered so much to her and her family.
On Memorial Day Weekend, Brooke, while undergoing regular treatments for cancer participated with her 16u Blue Storm Teammates in the "You Matter" Tournament hosted by the Chiefs Fastpitch and like she did so many times before, Brooke was the brightest star of the weekend!
The two walks that she so skillfully worked against a hard throwing righty from the Chiefs left not only a forever mark on us, but every person who attended on Long Island.
Her fight was so inspirational that the Chiefs Fastpitch dedicated the entire tournament to Brooke and her fight with cancer. Players, parents, umpires and friends all signed a "Brooke, You Matter" poster that her 16u team was able to personally deliver to her. Brooke's heart and her strength pushed her teammates into the championship game of the tournament that weekend.
A Special Thank You to Johana Valero who took the 16u Blue Storm Media Day Pictures with Brooke!
